Viva in the local shelter |
There are many more dogs like Viva. To help, more then 10,000 bloggers around the world join forces on July 23, to raise awareness for dog rescue and the rights of dogs.
Please join this global event if you have a blog. Or share blogs you read on that day about dog rescue on your Twitter streams, Facebook timelines, etc.
On July 23 this blog will raise the case for dogs in Europe. Many in Europe see the rescue shows on Animal Planet, National Geographic Channel and others and think puppy mills and abuse of dogs is mainly an American problem. But if you look a little harder, you will see the issues in Europe are very much alike. Stay tuned.
For more information about the event and how to join, visit Blog Catalog, Dog Rescue Success or Be The Change For Animals.
A good event and we rescue dogs are always thankful for having found a loving home.

Thank you for highlighting this event, planning to blog for a great cause, and most of all, for giving sweet Viva a home! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this event Leo. It's exciting to think we can bring attention to this issue in such a big way.
ReplyDeleteHey Kenzo, Hey Viva, Jet here.
ReplyDeleteMom asked me to share that she cannot imagine her life without Puffy, Fluffy, JJ and me, all rescues... Thanks for keeping this topic out front.
We're all glad that you adopted Viva - I'm sure she is, too! It is most definitely hard to imagine she once was without home and family. Looking forward to your contribution on the 23rd!

Thanks so much for Blogging the Change by spreading the word about the July 23rd dog rescue event and for always reaching beyond borders with your global approach, Leo. I just read another post about 100,000 animals abandoned in France annually as people go on vacation. Clearly, this is not just a US problem.
ReplyDeleteSee you on the 23rd!

Viva is a beautiful dog! How could anyone have the heart to return to a shelter? She is lucky to have found her forever home with you!
ReplyDeleteAs an added note, I am so glad you adopted Viva. Think how much we have all learned from her via you. :)
ReplyDeleteI've often said the same thing about Bella - who would give up such a wonderful dog? I'm so glad that Viva found her forever home with you. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post promoting the event on the 23rd!

Lucky for Viva! Like yours, my dogs were in shelters and foster homes and I always wonder what their lives were like before. I know my life is better now!

Thanks for joining in and truly helping make this an international event! I have often wondered about Shiva's previous owners, if they ever think of her now, if they have any regrets. Too bad for them, I guess. She's all mine now. ;-)
